On the East coast of Tunisia, and
less than two hours from the capital by car, the road
that leads to Sousse is much more than just a highway
: it is a veritable voyage of discovery affording a
range of landscapes that are as diverse as they are
attractive, and which reflect the variety of the country
itself : vineyards at Grombalia, orchards at Hammamet,
crops and olive groves of the Sahel, this section of
coastline stretches from the South of the Gulf of Hammamet
to the town of Mahdia, not forgetting the sea itself
and its succession of seaside resorts which are a reminder
of Tunisia's outstanding success as a tourist destination.

The third city in Tunisia after Tunis and
Sfax, Sousse owes its reputation as the undisputed capital of
this region to a number of assets :
- An olive grove which covers more than 250 thousand hectares
and has been one of its main natural treasures since ancient
times.
- A working port, right in the centre of town, which adds a
note of gaiety to its hustle and bustle.
- A medina steeped in history, draped in its fortifications
and still living at its own pace - but in perfect contrast with
a modern town with the charm typical of the Mediterranean.
- A seaside resort which stretches Northwards to form, with
the self-contained complex of Port El Kantaoui, one of the most
complete and multi-faceted tourist centres in the Mediterranean
- and only 20 km from Monastir International Airport.
A coastal city, Sousse has a mild climate which is just right
for all the pleasures of relaxing and getting away from it all
and makes it the perfect place for a holiday at any time of
year.
