In its magnificent setting on a plateau shaded by ancient olive trees, Monastir Golf Course offers the amazing sight of a garden suspended between lakes and the sea.

From its cliffs furrowed by wadis, the course runs down hills and through valleys with pools under the ever-blue Mediterranean sky.

The course is intended to be a technical one. Power must be combined with skill to handle its many pitfalls. Overlooking the sea, the fairways straddle ravines, follow the slope of hills, with greens running gently above pools. Apart from the length of the holes, the player must deal with the wind water hazards, which are wide and skilfully located. However, five starting points per hole allow all golfers to complete a course which is suited to their level of play.

Designed by the Californian architect Fream, Monastir golf course combines the very high technical aspects of the top international courses with a surprising layout which makes ingenious use of a tortured yet lush landscape and is one of the very best in North Africa.

The course will please even the most discerning of golfers.
