Presentation:
the festival started in 1924 under french proctectorate (only one show in july of a classical type). from 1956 to 1970 the festival had been managed by the french cultural service with the collaboration of tunis town hall. from 1977 to 1981, the festival became national and under the direction of the culture department. Since 1982 on the festival is classified among the international festivals.
