created in 1966, Carthage days of filmmaking arts(j.c.c) represent a privileged space where arab and african film directors meet and exchange experiences. As well, they are an opportunity to fruitful communication between American, European, African and arab cinema experts.
the principal objectives of carthage days of filmmaking arts are the following :

- Developing an arab, African national culture.
- Promoting the arab and african cinema both on the production and distribution levels.
- Paving the way for meetings and fruitful dialogues between cinema artists .
- Contributing the communication and the exchanges between the arab and african cultures on the on hand and the other cultures on the other.
this event, organized under the aegis of the culture department, held its 18 th session on the 20th to the 28th of october 2000.
