The idea of promoting a festival in carthage
was formed at the beginning of the 60's, exactly in
1963. it was then that the culture department organized
within the site of the antonin baths cultural shows
which were limited, then to jazz and theatre shows.
Very rapidly antonin baths proved to be suitable to
such cultural events which have undergone quite a boom
throughout the years owing to their positive impact
and their valuable content. Henceforth, by the end of
the 60's the transfer of the manifestations to carthage
roman theatre was decided, with appropriate conversions
to the space.
