There are many remains to make you reflect on the invasion-troubled past of this peaceful oasis (see Borj El Kébir and Borj Kastil).
Visitors will see that some of the mosques in this region, unlike their traditional tall thin style, are built rather squat. In fact they were used as fortresses against invaders.
